Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

A specific item upgrade can be used to evolve specific Pokemon. The Upgrade is made by spinning a PokeStop photo disc. It's often given as a prize at Pokemon GO events.

The Upgrade can also be found in armor, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools to increase the level of their item. The upgrade cost Flightstones and crests, depending on the item type.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be inserted into trinkets, armors, weapons and gathering tools in order to add attributes or other bonuses when the equipment is being used. The equipment that is upgraded must have an available upgrade slot to accommodate the component, and the majority of upgrade components require the item being upgraded to be above a certain level. Some upgrade items have special effects that appear when they are used. Upgrade components can be acquired through crafting, purchased from karma merchants or exchanged with other players on the Trading Post or taken from equipment, or as rewards during games.

They provide smaller bonuses than the other types of upgrade components. Inserting an upgrade component will destroy the previous upgrade. The exceptions are glyphs (which can only be used in gathering tools) and Enchantments, which can be removed and put back in.

Insignias Enchantments, insignias, and prefix/suffix upgrades will be displayed in the hover display of the item upgrades, while they will be added to the equipment's name (e.g. an Radiant Insignia would change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrade components that have been added to an equipment piece will be displayed in the item Upgrader kit's tooltip.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to add functional and decorative elements to an OpenType font. They include ligatures, fractions or ornaments, as well registered trademark symbols, ellipses and swashes as well as swashes. The Glyphs Panel lets you insert and view these special characters as well as regular symbols like em and en dashes, as well in trademark symbols registered to be used.

Rerolling
