Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into stronger bases. Items with strong bases, like eth Titans have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be used to upgrade trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or additional effect while the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be put in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used in other equipment. Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item can only be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

If an item is completed and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it resets to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade is successful.

After a piece has been upgraded to its maximum level, it will be able to receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's kind. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will have no more than two affixes to choose from and a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests, depending on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item does not reach its max level The NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with another set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials but will have less chance of success.

To determine the height of a structure, engineers will employ a level to compare the measurement to an established reference point, like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important aspect of the game that can boost the strength, damage or other attributes. You can do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item upgrading. Rerolling items can be costly and should be used sparingly.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item level upgrade determines the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, certain upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd get the stats that mattered most to your build often than other. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This could be a positive or a negative thing depending on your needs and requirements from your equipment.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item upgrader mod and the required items to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements of specific items.
