How to Replace the Replacement Key Battery For the Saab 9-3

Saab owners must follow a set of specific steps to add a second ignition key. This requires the use of a handheld computer, known as Tech-2 that is operated by the dealer. A new key and transponder must be purchased and then programmed to the car.

Replacement Case

Unlike the classic Saab keys of the past, the new key fobs are equipped with electronics which makes it more difficult to copy. This has made theft of cars considerably more complicated than it was 20 years ago. However, it also has made replacing lost keys a more expensive endeavor.

With the screwdriver, break apart the plastic, and then take off the emergency key. Once the case is open remove all electronics and place them in the new case. Replacement Battery
