WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through item upgrade upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show the item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Another notable change is that crests have one use and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can locate and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
