WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item upgrades that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
